How to Send Senior Place Emails From Your Email Address

Note: To setup direct emailing from Senior Place, you'll need to have a private company email address - an email address ending in your company domain (e.g. exampleseniorplacement.com)

From client interactions to community referrals, emails play a huge role in many placement professional's workflows. By default*, when you send emails through Senior Place, the email address it comes from is communications@findassistedliving.org. While this works for some users, most prefer their emails to come from their actual email address (e.g. jodi@exampleseniorplacement.com).

Thankfully, configuring Senior Place to send emails from your actual email address only requires a few steps to complete:

*Why doesn't Senior Place default to using my email address? It doesn't default to using your email address since the emails would be flagged as an impersonation - triggering them to be sent to spam. To keep this from happening, records need to be added to your domain to give Senior Place permission to send emails from your email address.

1) Let us know

Since this process requires us to set up a Verified Identity for your domain, your first step is to let us know you'd like to configure direct email for Senior Place.

Simply shoot us an email at support@seniorplace.io!

2) Add DNS records

Note: If you're unfamiliar with this process, recruiting your IT team or website designer to help, could be beneficial.

Once we've received your request to set up direct emailing, we'll send you a spreadsheet with three CNAME records. It will look similar to this:

Using the provided spreadsheet, you'll need to go to your domain host (like HostGator, Wix, GoDaddy, etc.) to add the CNAME records to your DNS. You'll need to add one record at a time and repeat the steps three times, once for each row in the spreadsheet we send. See below for instructions for common domain hosts:

3) Add SPF records (if applicable)

Note: Not everyone needs to add these records. We'll let you know whether or not it's applicable to your situation.

If you have a current SPF record, it will look similar to this:

v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all

In order to further reduce the likelihood of these emails being sent to spam, you'll need to add the following to your SPF record:

include:_spf.seniorplace.io

Once you've completed this process, the record will look something like this:

v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:_spf.seniorplace.io ~all

Here are instructions for how to edit your SPF record on common domain hosts:

4) Let us know

After you've added the CNAME and SPF (if applicable) records, let us know!

We'll need to configure a few last items on our end, and once those are complete, we'll let you know that you're set up for direct emailing from Senior Place!
